Dr. Tanaka is a licensed clinical
psychologist. She graduated from
Loma Linda University
with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, and is licensed as
a psychologist in State of California.
Dr. Tanaka has a variety of
clinical experiences. She has
been a part of Associated Therapists, Inc., one
of the largest group mental health practices Orange
County, since 2000. She
has served children and adults in
CSU Long Beach Counseling and
Psychological Services,
Loma Linda University
Psychological Services Clinic,
Riverside county department of
mental health, and
Pacs Family services(a
Los Angeles County-contracted mental health clinic),
where she provided school-based mental health services
at Long Beach Polytechnic High School.
Since 2005, Dr. Tanaka has been
serving as a psychological evaluator at
Children's Institute, Inc., one of the
largest non-profit mental health care organizations for
children and families in Los Angeles, CA.
Dr.
Tanaka works with children, adolescents, adults,
families and couples with various issues and
cultural/social backgrounds. She also provides
psychological testing services for ADHD diagnosis and
learning disability screening.
Dr.
Tanaka is fluent in both English and Japanese. She
is bi-cultural and can effectively work with issues
related to acculturation, cultural identity,
multicultural couples and families.
Dr. Tanaka also serves as an
associate program director for a master’s program in
clinical psychology at
Alliant International University/California School of
Professional Psychology. She has taught graduate-level classes, such as
professional ethics, personality, psychological
assessment, and master’s thesis seminar.
Dr. Tanaka
taught in Tokyo between June 2004 and October 2005.
She has made presentations on ADHD and adolescents anger
management issues in Tokyo. She has also published
articles on domestic violence and anger management in
Japanese professional magazines, and provided content
consultations for Japanese television shows.
